Begin Your Journey to Healing

I am not my sister's keeper I am my sister, when she heals, I heal.  Truth will correct all errors in my mind.

Meet Libby

Hello and welcome.  My name is Libby and I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, with over 20 years experience working with adolescents, college students, and families representing some of the most vulnerable populations. After several years working in higher education, I shifted to a career in community non-profit. There I planned and implemented direct service programs for youth and families including, parent support groups, therapy services for runaway/homeless youth and facilitating restorative justice circles.

In 2017, I opened LL Therapy Solutions LLC, a private practice for mental wellness that is dedicated to honoring the culture, and providing a safe space that empowers individuals to heal. As a Black woman and on my own journey, I recognize the huge stigma connected to addressing mental health treatment in Black and Brown communities. Several barriers contribute to the gap in care, including lack of health insurance, lack of cultural representation among clinicians, and fear of being stigmatized in the community. The biggest obstacle is ‘silence’. I believe these barriers have kept many suffering alone - in silence, giving way to unhealthy generational patterns. Through therapy, I aim to help interrupt these unhealthy patterns and change the narrative.

Let's Get Started!

FREE 15 min Consultation
Initial Intake
Ongoing Therapy

We will begin our work together with a 15 minute video consultation. The purpose of this consultation is for you to share a bit about your current situation, goals for therapy, and ask me questions about my practice. If we decide we might be a good fit, we will schedule an initial intake appointment.

During the initial intake, you will have the space to share more about your background. I will ask you a series of structured questions to gain a better understanding of your needs.

I encourage my clients to use this first session to consider if they feel comfortable with me as a therapist. I will also assess if I’m the best person to help with your particular concerns.

Ongoing therapy sessions are 60 minutes long. I typically see clients twice monthly. We will decide together on a course of treatment. I will occasionally ask you to complete a symptoms questionnaire to monitor progress and ensure that our work together is providing the change you desire.
