My Approach

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, trained to work with individuals, couples, and families.  My therapeutic approach is grounded in family systems therapy with a blend of cognitive behavioral, solutions-focused, and narrative therapy.  I am passionate about helping my clients recover from childhood trauma, lived experiences, and other generational patterns that may interfere with ones ability to form healthy relationships. I enjoy creating deep and meaningful partnership with my clients by meeting them where they are on their journey to mental wellness.

My clients represent a broad diversity of culture, age, and life experiences which brings richness to my growth as a therapist.

The Nature of Therapeutic Process

You have taken a very positive step in deciding to seek therapy. Participation in therapy can result in a number of benefits to you, including improving your interpersonal relationships and resolution of the specific concerns that led you to seek therapy. Remembering unpleasant events and becoming aware of feelings attached to those events can bring on strong feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, etc. I may challenge some of your assumptions or perceptions or propose different ways of looking at, thinking about, or handling situations, which may cause you to feel upset, challenged or disappointed. Change will sometimes be easy and swift, but more often it will be slow even frustrating. There are no miracle cures. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstances will change. I can promise to support you and do my very best to help you clarify what it is that you want for yourself.
