Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Smoking

I started smoking September 11, 2001.
I worked in the World Trade Center as a financial analyst and I started smoking the day of 9-11. That was 6½ years ago.
After 9-11 I had anxiety and was very depressed and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I had terrible anxiety and fear of dying. It put into a terrible depression. I starting smoking as a futile attempt to try and ease the anxiety. I knew smoking was not healthy. I wanted to quit, but I didn’t want to use the patch. I had bought the patch at Christmas time planning that this New Years Resolution was to quit smoking. Well News Years came and went and I didn’t quit.

I was seeing Dr. Rosen for my anxiety and depression so I asked him if he could help me stop smoking. He recommend laser light therapy. I was happy to try anything that would help me quit, especially if it didn’t involve a drug.

The laser therapy was easier than I expected. I entered The room was quiet. The lights were low and there was soft music playing. I laid down on a big long chair and the therapist asked me to put on some special glasses.
He explained that the treatment involved applying the laser light to selected acupressure points round my head, arms and hands. The experience was very comfortable. I had some discomfort in my palms, but it was minor. But that was the only uncomfortable experience. The time passed very quickly and was over before I knew it. I felt very relaxed afterwards and had no desire for a cigarette. It is amazing. I had one treatment and quit smoking that same day. That day was February 22 2008.
