Dr. David Gross is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists, American Neuropsychiatric Association, American Society of Clinical Psychophamracology, American College of Psychiatrists, North American Society for Laser Therapy, Florida Psychiatric Society, Palm Beach County Medical Society, Florida Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He is past president of the Florida Psychiatric Society and co founder of the Laser Light Therapy Center of Delray, in addition to maintaining a private practice in psychiatry.
He has held numerous positions as clinical and medical director of psychiatric hospitals, consultant to several substance abuse dual diagnosis treatment centers. He lectures frequently on future trends in psychiatry, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, psychopharmacology, mood and sleep disorders, and pain syndromes; and he has organized and served as faculty on numerous national and international task forces for substance abuse prevention. He is chair of the International Scientific and Medical Forum on Drug Abuse and special advisor to the Drug Free America Foundation. He has served on the Governor’s appointed Medical Advisory Council, Community Health Purchasing Alliance, State of Florida and Governor’s Physician Advisory Council by Governor Lawton Chiles. ;consultant to the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy during the Clinton Administration
He is founder and co-editor of the International Journal of Drug Policy and Practice and Physicians for Prevention and has organized and served as advisor for numerous task force councils on substance abuse prevention including: Faculty, International Task Force and Training Program, Substance Abuse Prevention, Drug Free America Program; faculty member of and Co Organizer International Task Force on Strategic Drug Policy, European Cities Against Drug Abuse, London, England; Presenter and Co organizer, International Dimensions for European Drug Policy Conference, European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium ; and Faculty, Global V International Conference on Substance Abuse Prevention, Rome, Italy and Faculty, International Training Program on Substance Abuse Prevention, Drug Free America Foundation, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dr. Gross served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County. He is Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, University of Florida School of Medicine, Gainesville, FL and Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Miami School of Medicine Biomedical Sciences, at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, and faculty member for pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Eli Lily, Wyeth-Ayerst, Forest Laboratories and Cephalon Sepracor.
